GHI / Aetna

For many retirees and current government employees home health care is part of your covered services. The government health program is administered through the Group Health & Life Insurance’s Third Party Administrator (TPA) Aetna Global.

GHLI/Aetna Global provide a cap on home care services within a benefit year to the following:

a. Skilled Nursing Services are 150 Maximum visits per benefit year b. Outpatient Physical Therapy Services are 50 Maximum visits per benefit year

** **This includes Outpatient PT Services at the Hospital and thru Home Care combined.

Please check your GHLI/Aetna Global representatives for questions, updates and/or changes to your covered services.

Currently there is no pre-authorization required from Aetna Global to provide home care services. Be aware that any claims rejected and/or not paid by GHLI/Aetna Global will be the responsibility of the patient and/or authorized designee.

To have home care services you need to do the following:

1. Request from your physician at the hospital or clinic to refer you for home care services, and to MHS Home Care.

2. Either you or your physician should fax the referral to MHS Home Care’s office or you can deliver during regular business hours.

3. Contact MHS Home Care at 233-4646 so our staff can begin coordinating with your physician for your discharge from the hospital or from the clinic.

4. Prepare all your insurance information.
